Welcome to Pai-radise, Thailand

Pai is the district in Mae Hong Son province in the North of Thailand. (Thais pronounce it “die” but use “p-speak” in stead of “d”) It takes almost 4 hours with 762 dizzy curves on the mountains from Chiang Mai to Pai. This small town is famous for its peaceful atmosphere and natural-style bungalows along with many postcard shops , convenient stores, pubs, restaurants and coffee shops. For Thai young people, Pai is a heaven of taking photos because it has millions of ‘cool’ backgrounds, for example, the iconic Coffee in Love and the two-storey yellow house.

Personally, I think October and November are good times to visit Pai because the weather is nice and they are less crowded than December and January which are high season. In winter, it seems like everybody wants to move to the North and Pai is one of their top destinations. It’s funny to read the news that at New Year of 2009 there’re too many Thais travelers visited Pai. So the gas stations didn’t have enough gasoline and there were some travelers fighting for it.

Even though Pai is a small district, it has more than 100 resorts that you can choose from. Most of them are made from natural materials like mud, wood and leaves. From my two visits to Pai, Ban Nam Hoo Bungalows is my favorite. It is the perfect place to relax and do nothing. I hope you will love this bungalows too.

PS. Pls wait for the Ban Nam Hoo Bungalows story :D
